Welcome Back! We are very excited about the incredible activities and music-making opportunities coming up for our young musicians this semester!
First off is our annual LGPE (Large Group Performance Evaluation) Camp. All orchestras will be receiving in-depth clinics and rehearsals in preparation for not only their LGPE performances but to advance individual technique on their instrument. The LGPE Camp Staff is made up of area directors, Atlanta Opera/ Ballet musicians, and professors from the University of Georgia. This is a required clinic for the orchestra students, so please mark your calendars accordingly.
Friday (1/25) Registration: 5pm, Pick-up: 9pm.
Saturday (1/26) Drop-off: 8 am, Pickup for Sinfonia I and II and Chamber II: 4 pm.
The Chamber I Orchestra will have a dinner break followed by a complete performance of their MFA program (5 pm performance). We will be recording this for submission to the MFA Orchestra Board. The recording is required to ensure that our orchestra is on track for the highest level of performance at the National Festival in March. Parents, friends, Lassiter Orchestra students are invited to this performance to support our Chamber I Orchestra! A detailed camp schedule will be submitted in next week’s TWA and given out this week to all orchestra students.
