Hello! My name is Carlos Smith, and I am excited to be joining the orchestra program at Lassiter High School as a student teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. I currently attend Kennesaw State University and am in my final year of earning my degree in Music Education with a Viola Concentration, with plans to graduate this spring.

I have the opportunity to work with orchestra students across all grade levels, and I am passionate about helping every student grow as both a musician and an individual. I believe that every student can succeed when they feel supported, challenged, and valued, and I strive to create a classroom where success is the standard and every student feels encouraged to reach their full potential.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading everything from manga to young adult novels, playing chess, and traveling whenever I have the chance. I look forward to getting to know the students and families at Lassiter High School and am excited for a wonderful year of making music together!
