FINAL DEADLINE FOR ALL 3RD SIX WEEK ASSIGNMENTS
The deadline for all assignments is this THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11. All missing assignments from the 3rd six weeks must be turned in by 11:59 PM on 12/11. Please check ParentVue/StudentVue for missing assignments.
ORCHESTRA SPRING TRIP UPDATE
As I mentioned earlier, the orchestra trip to Nashville has been cancelled due to lack of interest, however we are replacing it with a trip to Universal Orlando Resort, March 20-23. I’m waiting on contract information for the new trip, and the new portal will be set up for payments.
Parents who made Nashville deposits will have two options: 1. Transfer money to the new trip or 2. Get a refund. For the upcoming payment, if you choose to make the payment it would be applied to the new trip, or you can wait.
The new trip will be more expensive ($798 total) but include two full days in the Universalparks and will hopefully draw more interest so we can make it happen. My informal poll of students showed a good number of those that were interested!
As soon as I get the updated information, I’ll send it out in an email blast. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
HOLIDAY GIFT EXCHANGE & POTLUCK
This Friday, December 12 we will hold our annual Holiday Gift Exchange. This is an optional activity and students drew names before Thanksgiving break. The max gift amount is $15.
In addition each class will have a potluck celebration where we can celebrate each other and spread holiday cheer. Students should bring in food/drink and place it on the table for their class in the morning before school.
SEMESTER EXAM
Students were given a semester exam review sheet that will help them prepare for the 100 question multiple-choice semester exam. The review sheet and a quizlet are available in Teams. This exam covers essential knowledge for all orchestral musicians, and will be taken on teams during the final exam time in class. Please see the Lassiter final exam scheduled for details. We will do review for the exam during class on Monday and Tuesday next week.
PRE-LGPE CAMP
Are pre-LGPE camp will be held on Friday, January 9 from 4:00 to 9:30 PM. Each orchestra will have four learning blocks with two rehearsals, a sectional, and a sight-reading lab. A pizza dinner will be served and we will have an ice cream social at the end. This is a required event for all students, so please mark calendars and make preparations to attend.
