Lassiter Orchestra Festival A HUGE Success!
Congratulations to all far of our Orchestra's for their wonderful performance at the inaugural Lasiter orchestra festival last Friday, October 16. In addition to our Orchestra, we hosted a other Orchestra from Schools across Cobb County and Fulton County. It was nice to hear the other group perform and we all got to experience a fantastic Clinic by are invited headliner clinician, Creston Herron. Thank you to the parents who helped supervise and to the students who worked to make everything run smoothly. I think this is going to be a new annual activity!

Program Book Ads – FINAL CALL
Since the last call for any program book advertisements. The program book will be distributed at the Winter concert, pre-LG PE concert, and the spring concert. Parents of seniors can purchase a personal ad to honor their special string player! If you have a business, this is a great way to advertise with our Orchestra community.
Please reach out to me if you would like to place an ad, and you may do so at www.lassiterorchestra.org/program-book
Homecoming Parade is TOMORROW!
It is here! The Lassiter Orchestra will be participating in the homecoming parade for the 5th year in a row. We will be playing the theme from “New York, New York” to go along with the homecoming theme, "A night in the city."
We will have a few cello and bass students on the trailer float, and the rest of the students will be walking. Violin and Viola students should plan on playing their instruments while walking and cello and bass players can carry signs and pass out candy.
Here are the details:
Meet at 5 PM in front of the Home Depot, near the BP station. Please see the diagram below for our placement and drop off directions.
The parade starts at 5:30 PM. Note: We are at the caboose of the parade and should be done at 6:10 PM at the latest.
Students will be able to drop their instruments off at the Orchestra room after the parade.
The Football game starts at 7:30.
REMEMBER:
- Wear your black Orchestra T-Shirt
- Accessorize with beads, hats, NY stuff.
- Decorate your instrument if you wish
- Make signs
- Bring candy (no chocolate)
- Arrive to the Home Depot parking lot at 5:00 PM
The parade will end in the parking lot near the gym and we will need to fully un-decorate the trailer, make sure everything gets cleaned up and take instruments back to the orchestra room.
Parking will be tight so you should get there early to find a spot either at school or in the shopping center then walk to the Home Depot parking lot.
A reminder that students who march in the parade will earn 3 hours of community service! Students need to enter the hours on the form.
