Our Fall Concert is ONE WEEK Away!
Please join us for our first concert of the year next Wednesday, September 16, at 7:00 PM in the Lassiter Concert Hall!

All of the orchestras have been working very hard to prepare for this performance, and I think you will be impressed by what they have accomplished in their first 6½ weeks of school. This weekend would be a great time for students to practice and make those final preparations for next week.

Each orchestra will rehearse in the Concert Hall during class on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Fall Camp Wrap-Up

Our fall camp was a huge success! Thank you so much to all of the parents who volunteered their time or signed up to bring snacks and other items.
The students got a lot out of the day, worked hard, and sounded noticeably better—even after just one day! They also had a blast at our after-party!
Here is an album of photos from the day:

Fall Camp Make-Up Work

As stated in class, the fall camp make-up work is available in CTLS. Students should check CTLS for detailed directions.

Please visit lassiterorchestra.org/all-state to learn more.
Registration is due Friday, September 11.

Orchestra Dues – Now Overdue!

The LHSOA asks that each student raise or pay $200 for annual Orchestra Dues. This can be paid directly or raised through our donation campaign.
We encourage students to help take on this obligation by responsibly reaching out to family and friends who may be willing to support them.
I’ve created two scripts that students can use to record a video or send an email or text message to potential donors. We think students will be surprised by how much a personal message can impact someone’s willingness to make a donation.

The annual donation campaign can be found at:

If you have a situation that prevents you from paying orchestra fees, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Laux.

Program Book Advertisements

Do you have a business—or know someone with a business—who might be interested in advertising in our annual concert program book? Do you have a senior you would like to honor?
If so, the Annual Program Book is an affordable and great way to support our orchestra!
Advertisements start at just $15!
Visit lassiterorchestra.org/program-book for more information.
Ads are due by Friday, October 16.

Charleston Wrap Fundraiser

You should have received an email, and students should have brought home a packet, for our highly requested Charleston Wrap fundraiser.
There are many nice gift items available for purchase, and proceeds benefit the Lassiter High School Orchestra Association.
If you have any questions, please contact Mandy Pace at Mandypace1978@hotmail.com.

Spring Trip to Orlando

Stay tuned for detailed information about our Spring Trip to Universal Orlando, March 18–21.
An initial deposit will be due very soon. I am waiting on all of the final details from our travel company and will send out a special message as soon as I have the information.

Tissues & Paper Towels Needed!
Parents – if you can sign up to bring a box of tissues or roll of paper towels, that would be WONDERFUL!  :-)

National Honor Society Induction Ceremony – Chamber Only

Our Chamber Orchestra has been invited to perform before the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony on Monday, September 14.
This will be a great opportunity for the orchestra to perform its concert music for an audience.
Student arrival: 5:15 PM
Performance: Approximately 5:35–6:00 PM
Soon after the concert performance, we will perform the Star-Spangled Banner and then clear the stage.
I know quite a few students in the orchestra will also be staying for the National Honor Society induction ceremony. If your student is being inducted, they should plan accordingly.
