Orchestra Parent Meeting
This is the final reminder about our Orchestra Parent Meeting on Wednesday, August 12 at 7 PM in the theater (not concert hall). We will go over our new donation campaign to offset student orchestra dues, uniforms, the concert schedule, expectations, and more. We will make sure we are efficient and respectful of your time. Also, we will stay as long as necessary to answer any questions you might have. We hope to see you there!
Fall Camp
Please save the day for our first big event, Fall Orchestra Camp, on Saturday, August 29 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There will be an optional after-party from 5:00-8:00 PM. More details will follow soon…

Concert uniform
Information about concert uniforms can be found at LassiterOrchestra.org/uniforms. Our first concert is Wednesday, September 16 and all students will need the "concert black" formal uniform in time. Please note that the slacks and gowns will need to be hemmed, so plan ahead.
* New students — Order your concert uniform ASAP.
* Returning students — check to make sure that everything fits! If not, please order a new uniform.
Also, our new LHSO T-shirts (informal uniform) have all been ordered! They are going to look great! Students will wear these at fall camp.
Classroom updates
- Students should be finalizing the Orchestra Beginning of the Year (OBOY) Unit — see below. I have recently received clearance to put in grades and will be putting in these OBOY assignments soon. The Handbook Acceptance Agreement (pink sheet) is due by Friday and the Handbook Quiz is also due Friday (link is in CTLS). The OBOY reminders are below…
- Students also now have an orchestra folder and we will be beginning adding their fall concert repertoire. We will begin some performance assessments in class soon.
- All students must have a Lassiter Orchestra instrument tag on their case, labeled with name and phone number. These were given out in class.
Orchestra Beginning of the Year (OBOY) Unit
1. Introduce Yourself (using Padlet)
LassiterOrchestra.org/introduce OVERDUE! This will help you get to know your classmates and those in other classes.
2. Join the BAND app or update your profile. LassiterOrchestra.org/band-app Enter your first and last name, then in the profile are put your instrument, class, and grade. Enable notifications. OVERDUE!
3. School Instrument Use Agreement Form- This form is required for all students using school instrument. https://forms.gle/mrB4QoJBQsMdHJ6Z7 OVERDUE!
4. Student and parent information form – LassiterOrchestra.org/submit-information OVERDUE!
5. Obtain donations to pay for your orchestra dues – lassiterorchestra.org/donate Every student must raise or pay a minimum of $200. Send the link out to everyone you can so that your friends, family, and other loved ones can help!
6. Read the Orchestra Handbook – LassiterOrchestra.org/handbook
7. Mark dates in your calendar – LassiterOrchestra.org/calendar
8. Order your concert uniform (or check current uniform for fit) – LassiterOrchestra.org/uniforms
9. Handbook Acceptance Agreement – Sign and return the hard copy paper (pink) form due Friday, August 14. Forms available from Dr. Laux in class.
10. Handbook Quiz – Due Friday, August 14 at 11:59 PM. To be completed after fully reading the handbook. The quiz is now available in CTLS.
