Awards Banquet Wrap-Up
Our awards banquet was quite the event! With over 225 people in attendance, the energy was incredible! Thank you for attending and supporting our wonderful orchestra students. I would like to put out a special THANK YOU to our banquet committee of Ashley Saunders, Lisa Gilmore, and Sonya Feitell. They did a wonderful job coordinating everything from the caterer, decorations, volunteers, and more. We are all thankful for your efforts!!!!
Congratulations to our award winners and to all of the students on another successful year! I continue to be so grateful to be the director of this fine program.
Final Exams
We are wrapping up the year with our in-class small group performances as their final exam. It’s fun to hear students perform music that they have chosen and prepared!

Orchestra Fees/Dues/Fundraising for 2026-2027
For 2026-2027, instead of simply asking parents to pay orchestra fees, we have decided to implement a shared fundraising campaign so students can ask family, friends, and neighbors to support them. Through this donation campaign are asking each student to raise a minimum $200. This should be easy if students will email/text/post to people who would support them. We are hoping this campaign will spread the word about the Lassiter Orchestra and take some of the financial burden off of parents. If students do not raise their minimum of $200 in donations, we will ask parents to pay the remaining amount by September 1.
We have decided to begin our fundraising campaign now to allow students to have more time to spread the word and get donations. I’m providing two script for students to use — one for email, and one for social media or text.

As you may know, music is a huge part of my life, and I am thrilled to be playing the [insert your instrument, e.g., Violin/Viola/Cello/Double Bass] in the [mention your specific ensemble, e.g., Concert/Philharmonia/Sinfonia/Chamber] Orchestra at Lassiter High School this coming school year.
Our orchestra program is preparing for an amazing season of performances, including the first-ever Lassiter Orchestra Festival! To make this year successful, we are aiming to raise funds to help cover costs for guest clinicians, new music, and instrument repairs.
