HOMECOMING PARADEINFORMATION
For the fourth year in a row, our orchestra will perform in the Annual Homecoming Parade tomorrow, October 10.  This year the Homecoming theme is “Rio/Festivale” so we will be playing an excerpt of “Real in Rio” from the movie “Rio” as we march.  Students should plan on dressing up in their Orchestra T-shirt and accessorize with bright colors.

Students should meet at 5:00 PM at the Home Depot parking lot on Shallowford Road.  We will need to decorate our trailer. We are the LAST group in the parade and our assigned spot is near the BP station (see map). We have a small number of cellos players in the trailer.  Special thanks to Mr. Barnes for driving the truck and bringing the trailer!

Violins and violas will march alongside the trailer.  Cases can be kept in the back of the pick up truck during the parade. It looks to be a beautiful day!! Cello/Bass players will carry signs and pass out candy. I will load up the cellos chairs, and technology in my truck and will meet at the parking lot.

HELP!! We are looking for more donations of candy (Please no chocolate).  It would also be great to have more signs that say “Lassiter Orchestra” and “It's Real in Rio”.

The parade will begin at 5:30 PM and will go on until about 6:00 or 6:15.  The football game starts at 7:30!  Come out and support our orchestra students! The parade will end in the parking lot near the gym and we will need to fully un-decorate the trailer, make sure everything gets cleaned up and take instruments back to the orchestra room.

Parking will be tight so you should get there early to find a spot either at school or in the shopping center then walk to the Home Depot parking lot.

A reminder that students who march in the parade will earn 3 hours of community service! Students need to enter the hours in x2Vol.
