Dear Lassiter Orchestra Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I’m excited to kick off another fantastic year with our amazing students and am thrilled to share that we will have over 180 students in the Lassiter Orchestra program this year.
Please review the following important announcements as we begin the year:
1. Violins and Violas:
Please bring your personal instruments to school on Tuesday, August 5. All students should bring a charged laptop or device on the first day of school.
2. Cellos and Basses:
You should have an instrument at home to complete playing assignments. Please ensure it is tuned, in good condition, and ready for your first assignment.
If you do not have a home instrument, you may check out a school instrument but must return it the next school day. Many students choose to complete assignments before/after school or during lunch.
3. Orchestra Handbook:
Students and parents should read the 2025–2026 Orchestra Handbook here:
👉 LassiterOrchestra.org/handbook
Your student will receive a Handbook Acceptance Contract on the first day of school, which must be signed by a parent/guardian. Returning the form will count as the first grade of the year.
Due date: Monday, August 11
4. Student & Parent Data Form:
Please complete the form at:
👉 LassiterOrchestra.org/submit-information
This ensures we have accurate contact information for communication throughout the year.
Due date: Monday, August 11
5. Parent Meeting:
Our annual Orchestra Parent Meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 13 at 7:00 PM in the new Lassiter theater (not the concert hall).
Each family should have one representative attend either in person or virtually. A virtual link will be provided closer to the date.
6. Student Fees:
Student fees are due by September 1 and are paid to the Lassiter High School Orchestra Association (LHSOA).
We’re offering a $20 early bird discount now through August 17!
👉 Pay online: LassiterOrchestra.org/pay-student-fees
If you have financial concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.
7. Fall Orchestra Camp:
Mark your calendar for Saturday, August 16 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Lassiter.
This is a required event for all students. We will feature guest conductors, sectional coaches, and performers—a day your student won’t want to miss! An optional after-party will follow from 5:00–7:00 PM. More details coming soon.
8. Uniforms:
Uniform details can be found at:
👉 LassiterOrchestra.org/uniforms
We have two uniforms:
- Concert Black: Long black gown or black pants, shirt, and tie.
- Orchestra T-Shirt: Worn for informal events and spirit days (details below).
9. Orchestra T-Shirts & Spirit Wear:
Students will receive their Orchestra T-Shirt before camp.
Shirt sizes will be collected via an online form on the first day of school.
Families will also have the opportunity to order optional spirit wear through our online store—featuring our new rebranded logo designs!
10. Volunteer Opportunities:
We need your help! The LHSOA is looking for a co-treasurer and other volunteers to assist with operations and events. To get involved, email: president@lassiterorchestra.org or check the box on the online Data Form.
11. Calendar of Events:
Our 2025–2026 Orchestra Calendar is complete! Please review and add all events to your family calendar:
