The National Youth Orchestra of Uruguay is Coming to Town!

This orchestra’s visit is truly an outstanding musical gift, and all are welcome to enjoy the performances on Tuesday, September 29, 12:30 then again at 1:30 in our concert hall. For a sneak preview, check out their YouTube Video Here, and our LHSOA Events Web Page for more information.

Thanks to those who signed-up to bring snacks; please drop them off in the orchestra room before school on Tuesday morning.  If you are available at 10:30 am Tuesday to help set-up and distribute the snacks, please contact Ida Anderson.

Effortless Giving to the LHSOA

There is no easier way to help generate funds to our orchestra than through your daily shopping activities at Publix, Kroger, and Amazon.  Please take a minute to click on this hotlink to our webpage on fundraising and scroll down a click or two to “Effortless Giving”.

Its also pledge time for United Way Corporate Campaigns; if you are an employee of AT&T, Coca Cola, or any of the other companies who partner with the United Way,  your LHSOA contributions can be deducted from your paycheck tax-free and send directly to us – its doesn’t get any easier than that! Make your pledges and let us know what we can expect and you will be recognized for your generosity to our orchestra program.  

Help Wanted

If we all help a little, we can accomplish a lot! Please consider giving some of your time to the orchestra, there are many ways we can use your time and talents. Parent volunteers are need to help paint the driveways of our seniors – this is an honor and a lot of fun. We could also use some stage help before and after performances with chairs, music stands, etc.  Please contact Ida Anderson to find out how you can help with these.  See our LHSOA Volunteer Page for more opportunities to lend a hand.

NYC, Here We Come!

If you didn’t get your deposit in for the March 2016  NYC Heritage Music Festival   performance, please email the directors at lassiterorchestras@gmail.com to reserve your son/daughter’s spot.

LHSO Fall Concert, Thursday, October 8th, 7:00 pm

Please make plans to attend what will be a great performance highlighting the wonderful pieces of music our kids have been learning and practicing.  Following the concert, your orchestra directors invite you to a post-performance reception in the music area courtyard to congratulate our fine musicians.  This event is sponsored by your Lassiter High School Orchestra Association; Please make plans to stay a few minutes after the concert to attend. 

Formal/Casual Concert Attire

Everyone should have placed their order for concert attire.  If you have not done this, get ‘er done!  You may download the order form here, or you may visit the uniform section on our website for more detailed information.

GMEA Solo/Ensemble Program and All State

Saturday, October 10 at Sprayberry High School our solo/ensemble musicians will perform for Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) judges.  Please ensure you visit the information page on our website for information on the requirements, and how to register and pay your fees.
Also, continuing our tradition of excellence, its time for All-State auditions, which will be at Walton High School on October 17; please check the LHSO website BLOG for the latest details.

Bruster’s Fundraiser Money Past-due

If you have not yet turned-in your money for the booklets you received, you are past-due and we ask that you deposit your money into the LHSOA lock-box in the orchestra room immediately.

Its Cold and Flu Season Again

As we near the time of sneezes and sniffles, the orchestra directors have asked each member to bring-in a box of tissues seeing that there is no current musical notation for a sneeze in the current literature. Thanks for you help!
