
Welcome to the Lassiter High School Orchestra!
The Lassiter High School Orchestra in Marietta, Georgia, is a nationally acclaimed orchestra program led by Dr. Charles Laux. With four ensembles and approximately 175 students, the Lassiter Orchestra program performs engages students with solid string pedagogy, diverse repertoire, clinics, and chamber music. The program offers students a variety of enriching musical and social experiences within a family-oriented orchestra community.
String student’s summer checklist!
- Take your instrument in for maintenance (bridge & soundpost adjustments, new strings, bow rehair/replacement, etc.)
- If applicable, look at turning in your rental instrument and purchasing a “step up” instrument – you will love the sound you can get with a higher quality instrument!
- Find music like solos and duets to practice alone and with friends or learn your favorite songs by ear
- Continue to practice scales and arpeggios to learn the geography of your fingerboard

Pay Student Fees
The student fee is the main source of revenue for our orchestra program and is required for every student. The fee helps fund instruments, accessories, sheet music, guest artists, technology, and more.

Donate
You can become a “Friend of the Orchestra” supporter through a tax-deductible donations. The LHSOA is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Uniforms
The Lassiter Orchesra offers two “concert black” formal uniform options — a long black gown or black slacks, shirt, and tie.
