Breakfast Social A Success!
Kids had a great time at our Fall Breakfast Social this morning.  Thanks for LHSOA for purchasing Chick-fil-A biscuits and for everyone for bringing in additional food/drink.  It’s nice to see students socializing and being kids!!

Orchestra Photos
Will be taking group, orchestra photos, and individual photos of every student this Thursday (10/12) during each orchestra class period. Students should plan on bringing their formal orchestra uniforms to school, changing soon as class starts and getting instruments ready for their photo. We will go outside in front of the concert hall. Reminders will be sent out via the band app, but please don’t forget!  These photos will be used in our annual program book.

Program Book Ads
We are still looking for more advertisements for our annual program book.  Ads are due this Friday, October 13.  Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.  More information about purchasing ads can be found here: https://www.lassiterorchestra.org/program-book

GA Philharmonic Concert Coming to Lassiter Concert Hall
One of our local professional orchestras, the Georgia Philharmonic, will be performing next Sunday, October 15 at 3:00 PM at the Lassiter Concert Hall.  For more information, inquire with Dr. Laux as he has promotional materials and discount codes.  You can learn more here: https://georgiaphilharmonic.org

Homecoming Parade
Our orchestra will be performing in the Annual Homecoming Parade on October 20 for the second time.  This year the Homecoming theme is “Haunted HOCO” so we will be playing the Addam’s Family Theme as we march.  Students should plan on dressing up in their haunted apparel (no masks or inappropriate attire), or wearing their Orchestra T-Shirt.

We will meet at 4:00-4:15 PM at the Home Depot parking lot on Shallowford Road.  The parade will begin at 5:30 PM and will go until about 6:15.  The football game starts afterward!  Come out and support our orchestra students.

PS — I’m looking for one more flat bed trailer to serve as a second float…  If anyone knows someone that has a flatbed trailer that we could use for a few hours, that would be wonderful. Please contact me at charles.laux@cobbk12.org.

Orlando Trip Sign-Up
Our Spring Trip to Orlando has been approved!  We will be traveling March 7-10, 2024.  Signups, pricing, itinerary, and details will be coming soon in a separate email…

FOR STUDENTS AUDITIONING FOR ALL-STATE:
Parents:  if your student is participating in the All-State Auditions this Saturday, October 14 MUST complete the permission form online (even though you will be driving students).  Individual times were emailed out last Monday morning.  Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled audition time to check in and warm up.

Permission forms must be completed for this event, even though parents are driving students. I know this is crazy.  Permission forms are not to be completed electronically through ParentVue (on a web browser, not the app).

You can find the directions here:
https://www.lassiterorchestra.org/for-parents-and-students

Please let Dr. Laux know if you have any questions.
